Aren’t all videos advertisements?
Like – if you watch your favorite streamer deliver content, isn’t that just them advertising their abilities to you for your viewership? Which in return, gains them money.
I don’t really see a difference in a streamer generating income from “Epic Apex gameplay” content vs a vending machine app creator showing off their “revolutionary asset tracking app’.
Maybe it’s the idea that the streamer can hide the fact they’re literally selling you entertainment, whether you think it’s free or not, and in the vending machine market that’s a bit more difficult to conceal.
@Jarrett Matthews I think it should be required to have a label on the screen, informing the viewer if they’ve been paid by the product they’re showing. So many streamers “recommend” products outside of the normal plugs, that it’s hard to differentiate if it’s actually a good product or just another ad. Kind of deceitful, tbh.
