Sadly this is misleading, it is not $40 per hour of work, it is $40 per hour of AUDIO. While it doesn’t require any heavy lifting, it may take a bit longer to proofread subtitles as a captioner in happyscribe. Still a good idea though.
Hi, thanks for the comment. Thatβs right, I also mentioned βper minute of audioβ and they pay β¬1.1 per minute of audio, which works out β¬66 per hour, and when I tried transcribing it took me around 60 minutes to do around 40 mins of audio so I figured around β¬40 an hour of work
β@Caffeinated Blogger that’s very misleading. Even professional transcriptionist can only transcribe at 1:5. Which means that it takes you about 5 minutes to transcribe 1 minute. But that’s with perfect audio. Realistically if you are a beginner dealing with poor audio, expect to spend 9 mins to transcribe 1 minute of audio. Which exactly comes to $7.3 per hour of work.
