@jonathan norris he didn’t make it up,when you beat god of war 1 you unlock the character graveyard and in it you can see unused character models,and the blue tattoo kratos is there
@CaptainFlowersEven the “they were forced to change it”. No, they decided to change it *JUST IN CASE.* There was no force, they changed it to be on the safer side.
@TheFierceDeity Ω I never said they were forced to changed it… I was just commenting the fact Sparta is not a tribe, but a city-state hence what I said. You might’ve replied me to a different comment
@CaptainFlowers I was adding to what you said… I know you didn’t say that. The short did though.
In addition to the whole “Kratos’ Tribal Tattoo” being absolutely wrong, they weren’t forced to change the colour. They chose to change it. “Better to be safe than sorry” sort of thing.
@Skyman you said it was a rip-off of the diablos barbarian I was just proving you wrong. I play both of these games and I very much enjoy both regardless of Character design
most of god of war players know this. those arent tribal tattoos, those tattoos are in honor of his brother Deimos, which he thought was dead. after beating GoW 1 you can access the treasures menu where you can find the Character Graveyard. you can find monster designs that couldn’t make the cut, and Kratos in blue tatoos. there is never mentioned that he looked like the barbarian from diablo or something like that. the developer added a note to blue kratos where he said that they didnt want red tats cus’ they were too cliché so they put blue but he changed them later cus the red ones looked more badass.
feel free to correct anything thats wrong about the info.
also sorry if i made some grammar mistakes, english isnt my main lagnuage.
I mean blue would have made him seem Athenian, and they were regularly in conflict with Sparta. Red is associated with Sparta far more often, so it makes sense
I’m so glad about this change. Everytime I see a video on it. Colors make you feel things, and red is such a perfect color for Kratos. It can mean fury and love. Perfect for his story. His love taken away, and his fury comes to play.
Show me your sources for “97%” then
It came to him in a dream
Cool profile pic
He got it off Wikipedia
@GreHuo That’s a lot of developers to be.
@kamz senator Armstrong.
I’m also willing to bet that 97% of people who played God of War, had never played a Diablo game lol
Diablo is fun
then you would loos out on alot of fucking money. they are both massive games and were among the biggest and best names in the business
I agree
@felix yeah but gow is my favourite game
“Tribal tattoos”
I’m pretty sure he got them in order to honour his brother which he thought was dead.
@MC BOT his brothers birth mark
@MC BOT how is it a tribal design when it’s supposed to look like someone’s birthmark
@Duck. that’s not what he was saying he was saying deimos had the natural birthmark not kratos you goober
@Arthur Morgan we won’t,thanatos killed him in god of war ghost of sparta
The source of this “97%” of games is, you guessed it, “trust me bro”
@jonathan norris -nanomachine implanted senator
@Gurken Schnitzel no he’s telling the truth at the end of one of the og Gow games might be the first, you get to see a bunch of scrapes designs
@jonathan norris he didn’t make it up,when you beat god of war 1 you unlock the character graveyard and in it you can see unused character models,and the blue tattoo kratos is there
I died a little inside after he called Kratos’ tattoos “Tribal”.
Who tf looks at this and thinks its a tribal tattoo??
@Gentleman Orange how is it tribal tattoos if he isn’t even from a tribe?
@CaptainFlowersEven the “they were forced to change it”. No, they decided to change it *JUST IN CASE.* There was no force, they changed it to be on the safer side.

“tribal tattoos”
Deimos: Am I a joke to you
My thoughts exactly 😭
@Funny Valentine they designed the blue marks *BEFORE* the storyline was made, go to character graveyard on gow 1 you will see
@Dont Check My About Page Link bot
@raika_X_yui bad English
@Talish Mahmud and Tasin Mahmud yea ur English was good
“tribal tattoos”
He got them to honor his brother who he thought was dead
@BiggieSmalls they’re both Celtic war tattoos/paintings they’re 100% similar
@Skyman you said it was a rip-off of the diablos barbarian I was just proving you wrong. I play both of these games and I very much enjoy both regardless of Character design
@BiggieSmalls and you said they weren’t similar and I proved you wrong
@BiggieSmalls and saying they’re not the exact same isn’t disapproving that they weren’t inspired by Diablo
@BiggieSmalls also not disapproving it’s not a rip off for that matter either
Kratos with Red Tattoo :- Raging God of War
Kratos with blue tattoo :- Calm and Reasonable Person.

No there is scrapped models
Nah it’s real
-🤓
@CROWMAN yeah, in the museum it has no mention of diablo, just that david jaffe decided against hit because his gut feeling was red
8 months late but when you finish gow you can find a “graveyard” of scrapped models and kratos there has blue tattoos
“97% gamers never knew that!”
Me: who is that 🤔
They’re not tribal tattoos, they’re in honor of his brother
“Which is the reason why-“
@Shriek his iconic tribal tatoos
@GodlyUserName were supposed to be blue but the developers were forced to change is which is the reason why-
@Jacen Mosley 97 percent of gamers never knew that
@GodlyUserName kratos was designed to look different
@redneck21 his iconic tribal tattoos
I love these types of comment threads. YouTube for the W right now
The blue tattoo was replaced with red colour because David Jaffe (the director of the game) simply did not feel right with the original blue colour
Source: Character Graveyard in GOW Treasures
The blue tattoos and ash skin would definitely make him look more like the “Ghost of Sparta”
But red is just better to his character
Isn’t fitting to see a blue character with fire powers
@NuggHoopz ever heard of blue fire
@Boba Fett I have but as you can see fire isnt blue in this universe so I have no idea what you mean
“Tribal tattoos”
He got the tattoos to honour his brother who had a birthmark that looked like that💀💀💀
That’s exactly what I said in my head when he said tribal tattoos
I like how every time someone has told this story, they’ve had a different reason why they changed the color every time
I’ve only heard the Diablo barbarian story
@he was # 1same
God of war 1 character graveyard is canon
97% of gamers know that Kratos’ tattoos are NOT tribal, though.
I mean blue would have made him seem Athenian, and they were regularly in conflict with Sparta. Red is associated with Sparta far more often, so it makes sense
