  1. “We replaced the characters race because race shouldn’t matter!”

*proceeds to repeatedly make bigoted white jokes*

    1. If you watched it, you would know Shaggy’s girlfriend is not Scooby-Doo. People watch the show. Form your own opinion. Don’t listen to basic bitchy haters.

    1. @Horror Inc you keep saying I stated “just because she is a liberal don’t make her a liberal” but that’s not at all what I said. I will say it AGAIN, i said how “she would rather be called a liberal then woke”. and even then people get called liberal all the time which was my entire point. she even said it was cringe to call someone woke not the fact that it gets to her. Just like how you get annoyed when being called sexist, bigoted, whatever it is. I’m not even trying to argue I’m stating how she didn’t even admit anything and just assumed she did. So once again, wtf does woke even mean anymore?

  2. Fred was also genuinely smart. Maybe not on Velma’s level but it takes considerable intelligence to build the traps he does. Daphne may have been a bit of a damsel but she was caring and a good person. Velma could be snarky but she was never rude. She had banter. Shaggy and Scooby were afraid a lot but they never abandoned their friends. Old-school Scooby-Doo taught kids the value of loyalty and friendship. The characters were a bit stereotypical at times but they always got along and helped each other. Mindy clearly never watched Scooby-Doo and likely only attached the name because no one wanted the Animated Adventures of Mindy Kaling.

    1. What are you talking about? These ppl in the show are just cosplayers, they have nothing to do with Scooby-Doo

    2. Is funny how now days these ppl are doing remakes of show which the main point were friendship or team work, and then they make them all fight or be aholes, like that fate series, that powerpuff girls series(it looked like it was going that way) and now this Velma, what is next? Mlp? 👁️👄👁️

    3. @The Mole actually they would if it was good, which we know it could not be the case in any way possible

  3. i’m 99% sure they made daphne asian because she’s the only character in the main group that knew martial arts. because ONLY asians know martial arts, obviously…

    1. You actually have a good point there. So velma is a racist show. Now I got to watch it to see how badly its messed up even though I love scooby-doo

    2. I was born in nineteen sixty-six since when did Daphne ever know martial arts? And what only Asian people know martial arts. I’m also native Mohegan Indian how come they don’t put American Indians as characters in movies and cartoons

  4. They did not just replace a dog with a BLACK PERSON. This feels actually racist lol
Edit: ngl, good marketing on they’re part. I realize now that they’re not doing that, but that got a lot of people talking.

  5. It sucks cause Fred was such an awesome funny character who was oblivious in all the best ways he was just very passionate about traps

  6. The problem isn’t the diversity, it’s that they made the characters either annoying caricatures of their respective ethnicities, or made several of them punching bags, or just general assholes.

I swear, for what I’ve seen Norville is the least annoying “main character” of this show, and I wouldn’t stay in a conversation with this guy for more than 6 minutes.

  7. I’m pretty sure this show has already somehow managed to offend every race, gender, sexual orientation, culture, belief, age, and occupation on this earth

    1. @Lucas A. Very true, this show basically mocks their own target audience and refuses to have any actual target audience. It has no central theme besides that Velma herself is somehow great despite how every scene all but screaming she isn’t.

It is an SI fanfic so bad it wouldn’t have even any followers or favorites in freaking FFnet

  8. I hate how they disgraced everyone, especially Fred. Fred is the kindest and most positive character in the show with his brilliant ascot fanboying.

  9. On behalf of the 1.4 billion Indians I must say that we reject acknowledging Velma as our own . Thank you

    1. The reason they change characters’ race instead of making original characters with different races is because they lack creativity and most likely lazy.

  10. As an Asian person, they did us real dirty with the Daphne scenes 💀💀💀 I don’t feel “liberated” or “represented.” Mindy Kaling really wrote a bunch of races on a wheel and spun it…honestly what did she expect?

  11. I like how Mindy tries to show diversity on her show, and then continues to be incredibly racist and stereotypical.

  12. as an Indian, I am just appalled at what they did to such a beloved franchise. Almost all of my friends here absolutely loved the old scooby do shows that came on cartoon network back in the day. Glad most of them and myself aren’t bothering with the Velma show
