Wild Spinning Dots Visual Fallacy.

    1. Stare at the white dot for 10 seconds, close your eyes and look at the spinning circles again. This worked multiple times for me but it goes back the other way rather quickly.

    1. You literally have to stare at the white dot and get your mind to believe its going in the opposite direction before staring at the spinning dots.

  1. I think the uneven wobbling and warped disk below it’s breaking the illusion for me. Even got to the point of trying to mentally spin it the other way and it’s still going left.

    1. @Melanie Blake there’s a edge at the top part of the white material that moves in concert with the rotation. It was actually looking at the white dot that made me notice it.

    2. If you have sharp eyes you can see the lighting, and shade on opposite sides. Uneven wobbling.. yes I can say it did break the illusion.

    3. @TesserId I hope that’s it. Thank you so much. I have a fifty fifty shot on some of these things but once you see them you can’t unsee them and wonder why you didn’t before….its perspective. you are a eautiful person!

  2. Also, your peripheral vision has a higher framerate than your central vision. Your rods are more sensitive to movement than your cones.

  3. Yeah, I see it! I think when they say to “soften your gaze”, they mean to relax your eyes into blurred vision. That worked for me straight away.

  4. If you’re looking at it right you will see a black circle with a white interior. Or a complete white circle with even more of a precise look.

  5. That was really interesting! It’s a new one (for me). I like these visual “puzzles” and find them relatively easy to do. This one took me a bit of time as I was not following the instructions precisely. Once I did, the image changed right away. Thank you for this challenge to my lazy brain, ☺️.

  6. This reminds me of those optical illusion posters that used to be everywhere. Never saw anything in those either.

  7. I feel like I’m controlling it, when I tell myself it’s moving to the right I find it’s moving to the right, and when I tell myself it’s moving to the left, it’s moving to the left

  8. I disciplined myself to stay focused on the white dot and it kept going in one direction. If I eased off the white dot for a second. It would change direction or wobble. But if it stayed focused on the white not, no matter the urge to look even around it, it remained going one direction. I might of even forgotten it was a thing because of how focused I was. Hopes that gives you some idea of other people’s eyes and mind.

  9. It’s just like a wagon wheel in those old black and white cowboy moves, I used to watch on a Sunday afternoon as a young kid, where the wheel appears to rotate opposite it’s direction of travel

  10. It’s weird, I stare at the dot for 2-3 seconds and as I imagine it spinning counter clockwise it turns and the moment I even slightly imagine it clockwise it reverts back
