It’s all about convenience. People are more likely to do the favor you ask them if it doesn’t require a lot of time or work. If you verbally tell ask them ” hey if you’re happy with my service if you could go on Google and give me a 5 star”. Then option B that this guy is saying. Imagine your plumber comes out and does a great job and very great service and you’re very happy. Now if Shortly after they leave or the next day you get a text that says something along the same lines and they only have to click the link smd hit the star they feel they deserve and hit submit. . If you were happy with the service which one would you be more likely to give a review?

It’s not all about getting everyone to review. I know plenty of businesses that do this and their intake and profits are close to mine. Quality speaks for itself, word of mouth is powerful. Just seems distasteful to ask for reviews all the time.

Reason I’m not doing that is that I around 5 local business in a 20km radius of my home. There is basically nothing you can do in a country side community to get a quick buck
